Peep Art!

A homage to Those yellow and sticky Confections

Peep 8

Ere the blabbing eastern scout,
The nice morn, on th' Indian steep
From her cabin'd loop-hole peep.

-John Milton in Comus
Commentary
This work combines the High Concept Peep Art with religious themes. The symbolism combines the Lord's Prayer ("Give us this day...") with the Lord's Supper (the clasped hands, waiting to recieve the body of Christ). The work forces the viewer to examine their own religious beliefs, much more deeply than they might otherwise. The rituals of saying the Lord's Prayer or taking communion unfortunately often lose their meaning, being done by rote in their normal context. However, with the presence of the Peep, the artists do not perform sacrilege, but rather by removing the normal context they have forced the viewer to examine their own soul, bringing them closer to their God.
